Compile your assets (or design some)

There are two types of backlinks, and they are internal backlinks and external backlinks. The words that make up a query are commonly referred to as “keywords,” a foundational element of SEO. Since the ultimate goal of your SEO strategy is to help people who are looking for your business or products, what more logical place to start than optimizing your site to best match customers' searches? The featured snippets that SEOs have been striving to get are a prime example of how voice search has changed SEO. Optimizing for these snippets requires old school SEO tactics combined with something new. Remember, real SEO takes time. Companies that claim they are able to get you results in a few weeks are likely engaging in unethical practices like buying links, linking to low quality or irrelevant websites, or spamming comments. These shady business practices can result in a slight boost for a short period of time, but sooner or later, search engines are likely to catch on. Not only could Google remove your site entirely, these types of tactics can ultimately destroy your online reputation. On the internet, you can find hundreds of blogs, which are coming from self-proclaimed online marketers. What I find lacking in those blogs is they don’t take in stride the transition of content from the first-among-the-equal to being synonymous with SEO.

Is your website too Dynamic for SEO?

Google has always encouraged webmasters to make their primary focus one of providing a good user experience. As the algorithm gets “smarter”, websites that do so are positioned to benefit the most. Google’s Penguin 4.0 is now included in the core algorithm and is updated in real-time as of September 2016. Before this rollout, website owners waited years to recover rankings lost because of questionable SEO practices related to manipulating links. Setting the value of the "rel" attribute of a link to "nofollow" will tell Google that certain links on your site shouldn't be followed or pass your page's reputation to the pages linked to. Nofollowing a link is adding rel="nofollow" inside of the link's anchor tag. The header text, or H1 text, is usually the title of an article or some larger bold text at the top of your page. Google and the smaller search engines can see this and they put extra importance on the words in the H1 text. Make sure your target keyword or phrase is there. If a site links to you using the ’nofollow’ meta tag then their website’s authority won’t be passed to you. Some publishers automatically nofollow all external links, which is bad practice. Nofollow links should be reserved for sponsored or paid for links and content you don’t necessarily trust but still want to use as an example.

The more engaging your article, the better

Do you publish new content exclusively for the enjoyment of your existing audience? Or do you want it to rank high in Google and bring new visitors to your site month after month? Are your customers local, national, or international? How might this change in the future? Is language a barrier to them doing business with you? While there are a ton of great SEO companies out there providing valuable work and helping companies to reach new heights in terms of their exposure and profits, the unfortunate fact of the matter is that there are probably more not so great SEO companies. You can read an offsite SEO beginners guide here. The search engines are always trying to improve the quality of their results and because of this, the ranking signals are adjusted daily. In most cases these are very minor tweaks, but they are changes nonetheless. We already know that content is king when it comes to online marketing. If you offer quality content, your customer will share it with their family and friends thereby bringing you, even more, customers over time. Your content should be original and compelling to make an impression with your customers. You should never underestimate the importance of your content when trying to improve online sales.

Widen the net with a wildcard search

According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Search engines can also look at the search history for a given user. Basically, the search engine maintains a log of all the searches you have performed when you are logged in." The best way to create content that converts is to use emotion in your copy and evoke a desire for what you’re offering. Content needs to play a part in search engine strategy, too. The use of content on a website is powerful because it impacts search engine results while forming relationships with audiences. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter SEO plan, and for this, all parties on the SEO bandwagon should rejoice. The 'noindex, follow’ command in the meta tags of a web page will eventually be interpreted as a ‘noindex, nofollow’ command.

SEO recommendations are not always implemented in a timely fashion – and sometimes never at all

Link and link popularity/link exchange is a factor favoured by many seo professionals though I personally believe that while link popularity can certainly be a factor in improving search engine page ranking, it's not nearly so important as search engine optimisation and in fact too many of the wrong type of links can actually reduce page ranking! A mobile-friendly website will shrink its pages to be viewable on mobile devices, while mobile optimization is the process to offer visitors seamless experience optimized for mobile devices. Make sure you add responsive mobile URLs to your sitemap. Mobile friendly pages tend to rank higher for mobile search results, therefore inform the Search Engines which pages on your website is mobile friendly. A great way to incorporate all those valuable local keywords into your website is to create valuable content. Fresh, unique content has great SEO benefits, but it will also help to establish you as a reputable, reliable and knowledgeable business. Plus, you can use it for link-building efforts and share it on social media to widen your reach there, too. User-generated content can increase the relevance and freshness of a website. Users can interact with your website in many different forms. The most common ways include blog comments, question and answer boxes on products, and reviews!

Avoid all link directories that link to all kinds of websites

Links from low-quality sites will do very little for your visibility. If the site practices Black Hat SEO (link-schemes, spamming, doorway pages) then can potentially harm your ranking. Many blogging software packages automatically nofollow user comments, but those that don't can most likely be manually edited to do this. Well, ours is an imperfect world, and, as you might have heard, some self-proclaimed SEO “experts” scheme to trick search engines and inflate their rankings using black-hat, unethical methods, and in the times before the nofollow attribute, link-building was an easy way to artificially boost page rankings. A content hub is a set of content (usually web pages) organized around a specific topic (usually a central page). It could be a category on a blog or a section of pages on a website. In today’s rapidly shifting world, SEO techniques can change on a dime—and the worst part is that you might not even know it. Hacks that could have won you a front-page result last year are not only obsolete now, but they may even hurt your website’s rankings.
